Vauxhall has announced the launch of the Vauxhall Insignia ecoFLEX

A few days ago we revealed that Vauxhall had launched a range-topping Insignia – the Vauxhall Insignia VXR, a 325bhp road burner. Well, in these eco-friendly times, it seems appropriately balanced that Vauxhall has now announced the arrival of the Vauxhall Insignia ecoFLEX, to balance the Co2 and testosterone the VXR produces. The Insignia ecoFLEX, as you would guess, is all about economy and lower emissions.

Nissan will show off a range of electric cars at the 2009 Tokyo motor show, kicking off in a few weeks' time. The Leaf, which was unveiled earlier this summer, will receive its world show debut but this is the first time we've seen the new Nissan Land Glider – a narrow electric vehicle concept that leans into corners.The Land Glider is an urban transport solution, Nissan's take on how we could whizz around town in a decade's time. It has a cigar-thin body with room for just one passenger and Nissan says its width will reduce congestion and make it easy to park.
The 2014 Fiat 500 arrives in the UK
It’s hard to update a car that’s already a pastiche of an original, so Fiat has been very cautious with the updates for the Fiat 500 for 2014, although there are some welcome improvements. One modern change is the arrival of a 7″ TFT digital instrument display – standard on the 500S and 500 CULT and optional on 500 Lounge versions – which does a good job of mimicking the 500′s analogue instruments but with a central section that can be configured to display stuff like trip information and allows for more detailed information on everything from gear shifts to SatNav info (where specced). The biggest mechanical update comes with the arrival of a 104bhp version of the 0.9 litre TwinAir engine promising 0-62mph in 10 seconds (and it’ll feel a lot quicker) and official economy of 67.3mpg (you’ll get a lot less).
